Learning Intention: I can explore different art techniques using other materials.
This week we made the most beautiful oil pastel ornament drawings. We used our knowledge of primary colours from science and what happens when we add white or black to a colour to create realistic 3D-looking ornaments. Students learned to colour their ornaments in circles to create the look of 3D. We added highlights and shadows to add depth. We then used our fingers to blend the oil pastel to make it smoother. As a class, we discussed what pine trees look like all year round and added in this detail.
