May 29 - June 2, 2023

Hello, Grade 1 Families,

Learning Outcome: I can present stories orally as an individual.

We have begun learning about story writing. Students are able to identify the setting, problem and the main characters. Earlier this week we began our own story plans and later in the week, we used loose parts to have these stories come to life. Some students created puppets to act out the play and some students focused on the setting of their story. Once students had finished their creations they shared their stories. It was wonderful to see the creative ways students used loose parts to showcase their stories. Ask your child what their story was about and what materials they used to make their story.

"I think it was really fun because you could act by yourself. It is like when you are making a play out of stuff." ~ Shaw

"Acting out our stories was really fun because you are making your own 3D story." ~Thomas

"It was a lot of fun because we got to make our own stuff and there was a lot of different creations." ~Walter

We enjoyed having Mrs. G teach us for a couple of days while Mrs. McKay was recovering from Strep. Yuck!
