Hello, Grade 1 Families,
Learning Outcome: I can perform locomotor and non-locomotor activities in alternative environments using a variety of equipment. I can follow physical activity rules and play fair. I can work on a team and listen to and follow directions. I can participate in and attempt challenging movements and activities.
This week we help Sibbald Summer Games! Every day in PE this week we had a new challenge. We talked about being a good teammate and cheering each other on. We also talked about how we were learning new things, challenging our bodies and brains, and exercising. There were some challenging moments and we are also working on persevering when faced with a challenge instead of giving up. Our Grade 1 class competed against the other Grade 1 class and both Grade 2 classes. It made our learning extra exciting! Some of the challenges were: javelin throwing, torch relays and rubber chicken relays. We had a lot of fun and many laughs.
Calgary Public Library Ultimate Summer Challenge We had a virtual presentation this week by Calgary Public Library staff who shared information about the Ultimate Summer Challenge. Please see the link for more details. during this presentation, they shared their new stop-motion land acknowledgement. Take a look at it here. It is very cool.
